Nezapomen, ze nas svet zoufale potrebuje opravdu promenene lidi. Jako Richard Foster napsal, ja taky napisu tohle. “Pral bych si, abychom byli mezi temi, kdo za cil, jenz si zaslouzi nase maximalni usili, povazuji vnitrni promenu zivotata.”

Attached are all the documents for Week 5, including a reading from author Janet Luhrs and German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. During the study this week, we continue our focus in finding simplicity in our commitments. This is by no means easy. It takes a thorough, honest evaluation of the present commitments that consume our lives, and time, dedication, and prayer to recommit our lives to activities that bring nourishment to our souls and commitments that make a positive difference in our lives and the lives of others we come in contact with.

There isn’t much in terms of reading for this week, since more time is devoted to personal reflection. I hope and pray this moves us to make changes in our lives that simplify our commitments.

Week 2 is now upon us as we dig deeper into the spiritual discipline of simplicity. If you are taking this study seriously, I think you are already seeing areas in your life that need to be simplified, and I hope that includes your spiritual life as well. Simplicity isn’t easy. It’s uncomfortable to move from a life that we have become so accustomed to. But, the change is needed.

This week is going to challenge us to dig even deeper into our life and evaluate our more than enough life style. The focus, assignment, and the reading for the second week of the study of simplicity is included in the following links. The reading is in English and in Czech.

As Richard Foster stated, “may God give [us] the courage, the wisdom, the strength always to hold the kingdom of God as the number-one priority of our lives. To do so is to live in simplicity.”

Co je Křižovatka?

Křižovatka je místo, kde dochází k propojení, kde se setkávají cesty. Právě tato myšlenka je vodítkem pro naši práci jako neziskové křesťanské organizace zde v Olomouci.

Křižovatka Olomouc je občanské sdružení, IČO: 26567393, podle zák. č. 83/1990 Sb., o sdružování občanů. Kromě našich aktivit zde v Olomouci úzce spolupracujeme s Nadační fondem KOINONIA, IČO: 44995032, který byl založen v Brně v roce 1998 a působí také v Praze. Obě organizace jsou propojeny s křesťanskými církvemi, které se obvykle nazývají Církve Kristovy a mají více než 2,5 milionu členů v jednotlivých sborech po celém světě včetně Prahy, Brna, Košic, Bratislavy atd.

V Olomouci prozatím působíme jako skupinka sedmi amerických přátel. Naším cílem je sloužit a prokazovat lásku každému, s kým se setkáme. Naše skupina se seznámila v době, kdy jsme byli členy křesťanského společenství zvaného Razorbacks for Christ na arkansaské univerzitě („University of Arkansas“). Všichni jsme se během studia zúčastnili letních cest do Evropy, abychom pomocí Bible pomáhali místním sborům při výuce anglické konverzace, která byla organizována pro jejich přátele a známé. Během těchto cest jsme si oblíbili Evropu a Českou republiku a s podporou těch, kteří působili v Praze, i našeho univerzitního pastora jsme se rozhodli přestěhovat se na podzim 2006 do Olomouce. První rok a něco jsme strávili studiem českého jazyka a aklimatizací na život v nové zemi a již od jara 2008 aktivně působíme jako Křižovatka Olomouc.

Až sem nás tedy naše cesty zavedly a doufáme, že se brzy vaše a naše cesty setkají.
